New Smyrna Beach Airport Mid-Air Collision
On September 15, 1995, an instructor and two students of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University were practicing landings at the New Smyrna Airport. While on final approach, another plane collided with their plane from the rear causing it to plunge to the ground, killing all three occupants. The student pilot of the other plane was able to land safely.
Mr. Hill represented the University in a claim that alleged the University was teaching an improper landing pattern. Mr. Hill retained Pete Conrad, the Apollo 14 astronaut, to testify about the teaching methods. The case was settled on favorable terms for the University.
