Lear 25C Air Ambulance Accident, Lexington, Kentucky

On August 30, 2002, a Learjet 25C,  operating as an air ambulance, left the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport, picked up a patient in Naples and proceeded to the Lexington, Kentucky, airport. While landing, the crew attempted to deploy the thrust reversers to slow the aircraft, but they would not deploy. The aircraft ran off the end of the runway and burst into flames. One person was killed.

A lawsuit was filed against a Missouri maintenance facility based on the failure of the thrust reversers. Mr. Hill represented that facility.

Through a detailed inspection of the wreckage, Mr. Hill and his team of experts determined that the aircraft had landed long on the runway, and that the crew had not properly reacted to the landing emergency. The examination showed that the thrust reversers likely did not deploy because the aircraft was not completely on the ground when the pilots attempted to deploy them. Mr. Hill’s client was dismissed from the lawsuit.
